Multi-light imaging: making scratches and dents on metal parts visible
Metal surfaces reflect strongly, and a single light often hides defects in the glare. We capture several images under different lighting angles and combine them into an image that is easier to judge.
Reflection is the biggest challenge in metal part inspection. The same scratch can disappear completely when the lighting angle changes.
Our approach
We capture several images at the same position under lights of different angles and types. Each image emphasizes surface changes in a different direction, and the software combines them for judgment.
- Low-angle side light: brings out scratches and fine lines
- Coaxial or direct light: checks for dirt and color differences
- Multi-direction combinations: shows dents and surface relief in 3D
